I've tried Atkins, I've tried calorie restriction, I've tried the GOMAD milk diet (which was disastrous!). The only thing that worked, for a time, was the Zone Diet and even then I became really really constipated.

I watched the DVD Forks over Knives and decided that a plant based diet was something that I wanted to try. I didn't really believe that it was a healthy lifestyle - a person needs protein and all that. Just a week or so before going vegan I'd said at work, 'Yeah vegans; they can't raise they're voices or get erections.' Everyone laughed. Then I came into work, after watching Forks over Knives, and sheepishly declared, 'Guys, I'm ... becoming a vegan.'
Watching the DVD was all it took to convince me, but going vegan was a lot harder. I tried the Engine 2 diet, which I just couldn't get into. I got the Forks Over Knives cookbook, which was great but I found it hard to put into practice day to day. Then I found the paradigm diet.

Wealth of Knowledge and Excellent Simplicity
I have read just about every book out there on nutrition and in particular plant based nutrition. Adam Dave's Paradigm Diet was a refreshing surprise. I found it right before the holidays and thinking I had nothing left to learn, purchased it impulsively as a light read (and more arsenal for the family) for the airplane trip home for the holidays. I was shocked when I cracked the book and happily surprised with the new knowledge it provided. The information is fairly dense. At the same time Dr. Dave provided the information in a digestible format and I was able to pick up information that I did not previously know or had not been able to assimilate before.

In addition, Adam Dave, M.D. has a very interesting blog that repeats much of the best snippets from his book with some additional information as well. He was also offering a special deal wherein if you purchased his book he would perform a nutrition analysis of your diet for a very low cost. I said what the hey...

Although I am quite well read in the subject of plant based nutrition, The Paradigm Diet was informative and inspiring. It has helped me complete my quest for the most ideal human diet. Dr. Dave is a fabulous author making the read very entertaining while educating at the same time. I contacted him with a few questions regarding my own diet and he helped answer my questions thoroughly being specific and detailed in his approach. I am very impressed with this author-not to mention he is an M.D. which adds even more weight to what he states. Get the book, read it, do it. You will be very happy you did!
