Most Underlined Buyer Review : Just what I've been looking for!
My 8 year old son has brain cancer. On april 22, 2012 he had an aggressive malignant tumor removed from his brain. 6 weeks later he started 5 times a week radiation for 7 weeks. During this time he threw up a lot and had no appetite. In turn, he lost a lot of weight and muscle. So much has been out of our control. I knew the only thing I could do to help was feed him the most nutritious food I could. The problem is he now has a stomach ulcer from all the narcotics, steroids and prolonged vomiting. So his stomach is sensitive. He also can not eat too much at once since his stomach shrunk. He also has food aversions one day and not the next. Food he loves, even water at times, taste like metal. I needed recipes that were high nutrient and good tasting for a kid. This book gave me this while also taking into consideration these issues that come with cancer treatment. This is a first of its kind geared for children actively in treatment and after treatment with nutrition in mind not just...

Very helpful cook book
Bought this as a gift for my secretary whose husband has throat cancer and has serious problems eating, tasting food, etc. She said she finds it extremely helpful in preparing food for him. It is not just for kids with cancer.

One of the best cookbooks ever -- and not just for kids with cancer!
This cookbook is the most awesome cookbook I've seen in years. Of course, it was written with an eye for kids with cancer, but anyone who has a picky eater in their household can benefit from these great recepies and tips. I have made the chicken soup, the muffins and the smoothies. The kids and I have a plan to make all the recipes before the end of the year. The recipes are absolutely fabulous and the book itself is beautiful, moving, fun and enticing to both adults and kids.

The tips on each page are tremendous. The testimonials from the parents with the photo call outs are amazing. The cross reference chart in the back blew me away, as did the Suggestions to treat side effects to cancer treatments. Finally, the author is a trained nutritionist, and that comes through loud and clear as you read through her work here. Would make a great gift too!
