The book was written by an author who loves dogs. The topics discussed in the book gives me thorough knowledge of german shepherd dogs. The chapters are not lengthy and have key points highlighted throughout. I like the fact that it's written for pet owners or potential pet owners. After receiving this book in a damaged state due to what I considered use of improper packaging material. I was very unhappy since it was intended as a gift and I was left without a usable gift on short notice. Due to the sellers quick and very genuine effort to make amends I feel they now deserve 5 stars. Furthermore I would use them in the future.

Having read Cindy Victor's previous works I searched under her name and this book on German Shepherds popped up. Of course it is a wonderful, complete, understandable reference on the German Shepherd breed but it is presented with such compassion and filled with personal stories that you just know she loves these dogs. A must read for anyone who loves the German Shepherd breed or is considering adding this dog to their family.
