This book is a must read for anyone going through an illness and/or for friends and caregivers helping someone with a sickness. Joan Young was diagnosed with ITP (a low blood platelet disease) and there is a lot for everyone to learn from her journey through doctors, hospitalizations, and treatments. She teaches us that we must be our own medical advocates, we should ask questions, and not always accept what is given. And we should keep our minds open to alternative options. A wonderful book!
