Defeat Cancer: 15 Doctors of Integrative & Naturopathic Medicine Tell You How Description

ONE-ON-ONE WITH 15 CANCER DOCTORS:

If you traveled the world for appointments with fifteen cancer doctors, you would discover many of the cutting-edge treatments used to heal the body from cancer. You would also spend thousands of dollars on hotels, plane tickets, and medical appointment fees-not to mention the time that it would take to embark on such a journey.

Even if you had the time and money to travel, would the physicians have enough time to answer all of your questions? Would you even know which questions to ask?

In this long-awaited book, health care journalist Connie Strasheim has done all the work for you. She conducted intensive interviews with fifteen highly regarded doctors who specialize in cancer treatment, asking them thoughtful, important questions, and then spent months compiling their information into organized, user-friendly chapters that contain the core principles upon which they base their approach to healing cancer. The practitioners interviewed are medical, osteopathic and naturopathic doctors, trained in a variety of integrative approaches to cancer treatment.

All aspects of treatment are covered, from anti-neoplastic (anti-cancer) remedies and immune system support, to dietary and lifestyle choices that result in the best outcomes for patients. The book also offers unique insights into healing, such as the pros and cons of different treatments and how to intelligently use chemotherapy. It discusses patient and practitioner challenges to healing, factors that affect healing, treatment outcomes and how to effectively combine multiple medical strategies to obtain the best results. Finally, it offers helpful insights to the friends and families of those coping with cancer. Cancer treatment is complex and controversial, and this book puts the treatment information you need in the palm of your hand.

Most Underlined Buyer Review : Get your head out of the sand
Reading this book is a good way to get it into the mind that "Yes, doctors who successfully treat cancer without toxicity actually DO exist!" (despite what your oncologist might tell you). They aren't curing everyone, but their treatment outcomes still make conventional oncologists look like naughty children that need to go sit in the corner. Mainstream oncologists can help you with many things, but to accept their treatment recommendations at face value without getting a second opinion from an integrative physician is just silly, and will at some point very likely cost you your life. This book introduces you to some such integrative physicians. Many more are out there. Naturopathic.org , ACAM.org, and IPTforcancer.com are a few places to search for a local integrative doc and call up their offices and ask questions.

What Other Buyer say?
A must read to know your options.
I don't have a medical background, English is not my native language and I don't have cancer.
But even for me as a layman the medical explanations were easy to understand
(exept for some words that I had to google and did not even understand in German).
I wanted to read this book as I am eager to learn about alternative medicine, as I think it
is important to know ALL the options there are, to be able to make a wise choice.

I know and have known a lot of people who have or had cancer. From 8 only one is still alive and well and the other one is dying slowly. I think the one that still lives a good life does so because he has a holistic approach to his illness. He meditates and is very careful about what he feeds his body AND mind. This is what impressed me most in this book....the fact that you don't just have to treat the cancer mass itself, but support the body and mind alike to empower it
to start the self healing mechanisms.

With every...

An invaluable resource when cancer strikes
I would have loved to have had this book when my husband was diagnosed with throat cancer, five years ago. I don't know if he would have opted for a treatment different than the traditional poison/burn approach, but it would have been fantastic to have this resource on hand, to know what our options were and in case the traditional treatment failed to work.

When you are dealing with a life-threatening illness like cancer, the Internet is incredibly helpful. But the "non-traditional treatment" information is mostly anecdotal, the amount of time you must invest to find answers is mind-boggling, and no single resource or site makes it convenient to intelligently compare alternatives.

Defeat Cancer gives the cancer sufferers - and their loved ones - an invaluable resource. First, you will learn things about cancer that you will not learn from the Internet or the doctors who provide traditional treatment. Second, you will come to understand what options are open to...
